Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit we receive does not allow us to live in fear, but to live with the knowledge we are now children, heirs, of God our creator. What an opportunity!
14 "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." Romans 8:14-17 (NIV)
Romans 8 highlights areas of life in the Spirit. God has not called us to live for him in a vacuum. Our lives are to be full of love, joy, and sharing the Good News by encompassing what God’s plans are for us. We thrive when we fulfill those powerful God filled plans. By using our Gifts given to us by our creator God, we honor ourselves before God. We are His children. We have a call to action!
"…so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. "
Romans 12:5-8 (NIV)
Through the Holy Spirit, we find that God provides all we need to enjoy our daily walk (in victory) with Him and our Christian family. We discover our God Given gifts and talents. As we discover our Gifts, Jesus develops our use of them. When we live our life using these Gifts, we find that we become fulfilled before God and others. God’s power is unleashed in the most effective manner by following His will. We come to savor those things that are holy and agreeable to God.
All we need do is to put our hand in his, and acknowledge that he knows the path ahead better than we do. Let’s walk with him, neither lagging behind, nor running ahead.
Have you invited the Holy Spirit into your life? Have you began using your gifts given by your creator?
I am a child of Jesus Christ. Amen!
