"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) About a month ago, I started a new job and I have never been so anxious in my life. From having to learn new skills, to having to learn new computer software, to having unstable patients and difficult family members to deal with, to adjusting to the dynamic personalities of my new coworkers. It takes a toll. Every evening before bed, my wife and I do a devotion and then pray. I had an exhausting day at work and somewhere in my prayer that evening, I asked God to allow me to "rest in peace." Before I realized how I had worded what I just said, my wife bursted out laughing, cutting my prayer short. She said "I think you meant to ask for peace of mind so you could get a good night's rest and not to really rest in peace, right???" Even in the moments when we can't find the right words or say the wrong things, I'm sure God knows our thoughts and exactly what our anxious hearts need. What are you needing to hand over to God today so that you can be at peace?
