“Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.” (John 16:22-24 NASB)
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” (Matt 7:7-11 NASB)
I caution you though this does not mean if you ask for personal gain that God will answer you. Your motive matters to God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Lord for your presence with us always. Thank you for protecting us and showing us how to best handle life during this season of life. Thank you that many are gathering to worship you safely. Thank you for our leadership. Pastors who really care for us!
You have told us to ask what is in our hearts, our deepest desires. Father, our prayer is for a united world, and a united Church. This all starts with us… gaining real wisdom in your Word, being in earnest prayer, sharing that wisdom (mentoring/small group), and using our choice to strengthen your world.
Our prayer is that there is peace and not division. That everyone listens to your voice and follows you, and Lord may your will be done! Please no matter what comes let all come together as your people. Observing everyone in love and making the world a better place for all, bringing forth your Kingdom, the Kingdom of God.
No matter what comes we are your hands and feet and need to witness in love and peace. We are one of your expressions of love and reconciliation. But if we don’t walk in a manner that shows You, then Lord the world will not see. Lord, help us to walk in your love and peace.
Father, help us to be always in relationship with you and your people. Help us to walk in faith and be the light in this world.
We know no one knows the hour of your return. So, help us to serve and love while there is still time.
We ask these things in your precious Son’s name of Jesus Christ.
Thank you Lord!
