"Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10
In my 20s and 30s, I had no concept of how slow and simple could be good. I believed that if you weren't doing things as fast as you can and doing as many things as you can, then you weren't productive enough. I was literally going after "all the things." After all, less never equaled more.
Fast forward to 2020. I am now in my 40s and God is teaching me how less does become more. 2020 is truly the year of clear vision. It took a pandemic and the world coming to a standstill for me to see what really matters when everything else falls away. In Emily Ley's book "Grace, Not Perfection," she writes "When God strips us of all the things that make us feel safe and secure, He gives us a story far better than we could have written for ourselves." I have never been a person to be still, but being still (not by choice) has allowed me to spend more time in His word and to learn who He is rebuilding me to be.
What has God been revealing to you in 2020???
