“But the Lord Almighty will be exalted by His justice, and the holy God will be proved holy by His righteous acts” (Isaiah 5:16 NIV)
Many names of various philosophers will come up in one’s time at college. Many, many philosophers’ names. Why? Because some are good, some are bad and some are just not so good. But the real reason is because none of them are good enough. None of them come up to God’s standard. Meaning that they may have what we believe to be truth for a while, but then some before unknown circumstance comes into reality, such as Nazism, and we have to completely rethink what we saw once as truth.
Only a holy transcendent God can get truth right the first time. All else must stand before time itself to be tested. “We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the universe; that He only is God, holy in nature, attributes, and purpose.” Sin is sin no matter how it is dressed up or explained. Changing the name of a snake will not transform its nature, and no one under God can see all truth to explain even a small portion of it except God.
In the end only God’s righteousness will prove Him and Him alone to be holy and just. Only He will be exalted above all as not just a loving God, but a just God, and a holy God by His own acts!
When you look at God as a just God what do you see?
When you look at God as a loving God what do you see?
Do you see the same God?
