“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
The person who started a butterfly puzzle in the Radiation Oncology waiting room before I arrived had mismatched several pieces. It made it difficult to complete when what was left over didn’t fit.
The same can be said of life. If we make poor life decisions now life will get increasingly more difficult until it seems like nothing fits. Trusting in the Lord and living my life for Christ makes the pieces fall in the right place according to His will. Me forcing two pieces to fit won't make things easier or better in the long run. All I’m doing is creating more work for myself to get put back together correctly.
I'm thankful God is faithful to complete the work He started in me even when I take missteps—It’s more painful, this way, but He is faithful. My goal however is to keep my eyes on Him and trust in Him to guide my path.
Is God the Lord of your puzzle of life, or are you?
Is there anything in your puzzle that you need to hand to God and ask him to find where it goes?
