Psalm 29; Job 39:26-40:5; John 14:25-26

Have you ever had your life threatened by the grandeur of nature? I have, but it was very mild compared to what others have gone through when they have faced a hurricane, tornado, flood, earthquake, or survived a storm in the air or on sea. When our lives are threatened we feel very small compared to the magnitude of nature.

Today's Psalm and Job passages give us an understanding of how great God is. God is so much bigger than God's creation of earth's nature. Not only did God create the world and everything in it but God also created everything in the universe. If we think we are small compared to nature then we are nothing compared to the greatness of God.

Yet God invites us to worship God and promises to give us strength and to bless us with peace (Psalm 29:1-2 & 11). And God has promised to come so near to us that this great God chooses to dwell within us through the promise of the Holy Spirit that God the Father has sent to us in Jesus' name (John 14:26).

How big is the storm that you are facing today? How big is your God? Worship God and receive from God all God has for you!
