July 25, 2020 - You Will Never Look at a Mushroom the Same Way Again - Laura Harris

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 ESV

We are God’s Poiema - (Greek) Masterpiece, work of art.

"Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding." Jeremiah 3:15 NASB

"Be sober (well balanced and self-disciplined) be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion (fiercely hungry), seeking someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8 AMP

There are several science shows that indicate the biggest organism on earth is a fungi- mushrooms.

The organism has a massive system under the earth called Mycelium and Armillaria Ostoyae (honey mushrooms) that will take the nutrients from a living tree until it is dead and then eat the dead tree. This does not happen overnight. It happens slowly and somewhat unseen to our naked eye.

I don’t know about you but, this reminds me of something that likes to take advantage of us (God’s workmanship). How the negative self-talk, suggestions that surely God did not mean for you, or God did not mean this whatever the situation we are in- to entice us to sin. Sin eats away at us, but God has sent his Son to give us eternal relationship and forgiveness. He provides us with pastors and one another to sharpen our knowledge and help us to be aware of the prowling enemy.

Well Balanced: This is something that physical therapists help those who have had a limb/joint replaced become (balanced). If we are not physically balanced then surely we will stumble and fall. Not unlike being spiritually well balanced. God has called us to live life dependent on Him. "I am the vine, you are the branches" - we are to gain our sustenance from Him.

Are you living this way today or are you allowing your energy and the plan God made for you to be stolen like the nutrition stolen by the mushrooms?
